Cursive T
On this page a bar lies on top of the capital T and cuts across the small t. The two letters are t in cursive from one font, and each is a slanted line with a bar. In that font the capital F is close to the capital T, and the small i to the small t. Ten words with a small t are drawn lower on the page, from tapeless to sheet.
Beside the capital T with its long bar, the small t is a narrow letter, 0.39 as wide. In height the two are closer. The bar of the capital lies along the cap height. The top of the small t is above the x-height but short of the cap height, and it rises 0.73 as far as the capital.
Capital T, a long drooping bar
The capital T has two parts. A long bar runs along the cap height, and a slanted line hangs from it down to the baseline.
On the left the bar droops. It curves down to a blunt free end, which stays well above the x-height. The right part of the bar is straight and level, and the capital reaches furthest right at its blunt right end.
At the baseline the slanted line hooks around to the left and climbs a short way. The hook stops in a blunt tip under the left end of the bar. No point of the capital T is further left than that tip, which is above the baseline and under the x-height. The whole capital is one outline with no enclosed space, and nothing leaves it at the lower right.
Small t, a short bar across
The small t is a slanted line with a short bar across it. The slanted line has a blunt top, which stands above the x-height, a little under halfway to the cap height.
The bar is straight and level, and its upper edge runs along the x-height. It sticks out further on the right of the slanted line than on the left.
At the baseline the slanted line curves to the right and lifts into a tail. The tip of the tail is about a quarter of the way up to the x-height. The right end of the bar lies further right than this tail does. On the other side, the bend at the bottom of the slanted line bulges slightly further left than the bar's left end.
On top of the line, or across it
Each letter has a slanted line and a bar. On the capital T the bar lies on top of the line, and on the small t it cuts across the line. The bottoms turn opposite ways, since the capital hooks to the left at the baseline and the small t curls to the right. The capital's bar is at the cap height, the bar of the small t is at the x-height, and the top of the small t lies between those two lines.
A t in the middle: myth, creature, stinking
Inside myth the small t stands between y and h. In creature it has a before it and u after it, and in stinking it has s and i.
