Strikethrough Text Generator

Strikethrough changes none of the 62 keys: your letters and digits come out as typed, each followed by one combining mark, ready to copy for a post or a caption.

Type in the box and each row follows your text. Copy puts a row on your clipboard and the button reads Copied. If copying is refused it reads Selected, and the text stays selected to copy by hand.

One Unicode character: COMBINING LONG STROKE OVERLAY

Strikethrough is not a font. Strikethrough is made with a single Unicode character, U+0336, COMBINING LONG STROKE OVERLAY, a nonspacing mark from the Combining Diacritical Marks block.

A stroke mark after letters, digits and spaces

The tool writes U+0336 after every character of your text, spaces too. An emoji or a line break never gets one.

Six more OVERLAY marks, one style each

Short Stroke uses U+0335, COMBINING SHORT STROKE OVERLAY: the word STROKE again, with SHORT where the first mark's name says LONG.

Slash Through puts U+0338 after each letter and digit. Its name, COMBINING LONG SOLIDUS OVERLAY, has SOLIDUS where the style's own name has Slash.

Short Slash takes U+0337, COMBINING SHORT SOLIDUS OVERLAY: SOLIDUS once more, in its SHORT form.

Double Slash draws its mark from a second block, Combining Diacritical Marks for Symbols: U+20EB, COMBINING LONG DOUBLE SOLIDUS OVERLAY.

In Tilde Through the mark is U+0334, COMBINING TILDE OVERLAY.

Bar Through's mark, from that second block too, is U+20D2, COMBINING LONG VERTICAL LINE OVERLAY: VERTICAL is in no other name of the seven.

None of these six styles puts a mark after a space, an emoji or a line break: those stay as you typed them.
